There is no doubt that soccer is the most popular game in the world, after all it is the beautiful game. From a young age many boys and girls from all over the globe have aspirations of playing on the big stage. For one Ottawa native, his next stage is set and awaits his arrival this Friday.

Fury FC will be hosting the Major League Soccer team Montreal Impact at the TD Place tomorrow, in the first edition of the CapCity Cup. The CapCity Cup is intended to show the quality and talent in the Ottawa-Gatineu area.

Ottawa’s very own Hansly Felix-Malonga will take to the pitch tomorrow against the Montreal Impact. Hansly’s journey has been full of hard work, dedication and passion for the game. The 20 year-old started playing soccer from the time he could walk and joined Ottawa Royals SC when he was just 10.

With great pace and ability to beat defenders one-on-one, he is getting the shot he has worked so hard for. His path on the road to success has been no easy task. Hansly spent a couple of season playing for clubs in the DC area, including the DC United U23 team. Last year the number 11 returned home to Ottawa and has since been with the first team.

Hansly spoke to us in regards to his debut saying “I’m feeling blessed and grateful to be able to represent my city. It means a lot to me because I played in the academy since I was 14, so I always dreamt and tried to work my hardest in training to get to moments like this. I used to watch the big Canadian teams like Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps on TV, so to be able to make my pro debut against one of these teams by playing for my city is truly an honour and a dream come true”.

The young starlet enjoys spending time with his family and listening to music when he isn’t on the pitch. Of Hatian and French decent, the forward has a tradition of calling his Mom before games to make a prayer. Poised and humble off the pitch, his attitude transcends into his game as well.

Tomorrow Hansly among other young talents will take a great leap into their professional career. Come out and support the great players that will dress for tomorrow’s match against the Montreal Impact.
